Press the home button to get to the main dashboard with all the streaming platforms on it. The Roku channel has a few channels you can access for basic news. There is also a YouTube application that has free content on it. Personal logins are required for viewing content on applications, such as Netflix.
Note: Please make sure to leave our iPad charger behind. Cords tend to all look the same. There is a $50.00 charge for missing cords.
Cell Phone Use | International Phone Charges to Avoid
Because of our proximity to the British Virgin Islands, there is a chance that you will incur international roaming charges. If you want to avoid international charges, you will want to turn off cellular data and enable WIFI calling on your telephone when located inside and around your accommodation on the island’s north side.
This applies to guests residing in the Glamping Tents, Treehouses and visiting Crescent Beach. It does not apply to guests residing in the Villa or when visiting the Lovango Beach Club and Village. If there are any issues setting up WIFI calling on your mobile device, our front desk or Concierge team would be happy to provide assistance.
TRANSPORTATION
Island Shuttle Service
The island is small and walking is encouraged. It is a relatively easy ½ mile walk down to Crescent Beach and the Waterfront/Village area in good weather. It is a somewhat daunting walk returning up the hill from the Village- although a good challenge to all, and we encourage you to try it at least once! In rainy weather, walking is not recommended due to slippery surfaces.
Upon request, our shuttle picks up at the following locations:
Rooms 101-107
At the top of your stairwell
Rooms 107-110
Top of the staircase next to tent 111 & tent 112
Rooms 201-204
At the beginning of the boardwalk, closest to tent 201
Cottages 220 & 221
The shuttle will pick up at the front door
Our on-island shuttle is available between the hours of 8:45 am-10:00 pm. Call Concierge or the Front Desk and we’ll come and get you wherever you are on the island.

Please see the beach club attendant upon arrival to for a snorkel gear fitting. You can snorkel near C dock, at Crescent Beach or take the equipment over to Honeymoon Beach on one of our afternoon excursions.
USVI Coral
Restoration
We are thrilled to be working with the UVI on this important initiative to replenish the many coral reefs surrounding Lovango Cay. The UVI and Lovango will use this as an opportunity to educate and excite visitors coming to Lovango about the importance of healthy coral reefs and what they can do to help rescue, renew and care for the reefs.
Visitors will be able to snorkel the waters right off our beaches and get a firsthand look at the underwater research and regeneration of the reefs! Underwater signage will help guide and educate snorkelers about what is happening within each of the research sites.
Zone 1 Rescue
Underwater structures will be installed to encourage fast-growing species of coral (like Elkhorn or Staghorn) to develop in the shape of our name, LOVANGO! The team from UVI will check in monthly to monitor the progress.
Zone 2 Rescue
The Research Zone will be an area where experimental outplantings will be monitored by underwater sensors. A snorkeling trail of underwater signs will point visitors toward important aspects of the coral reef. Surface buoys will indicate safe swimming areas.
Zone 3 Restoration
The Restored Zone will be an area of concentrated out planting with no research monitoring. The research group from UVI is working to restore this area’s Elkhorn and Staghorn coral.

FAQ
Drinking Water
Water is Potable and safe (and delicious!) to drink. We have cisterns that are supplemented by our own reverse osmosis plant, producing all our own drinking water. We ask that you please use a refillable water bottle, so we don’t cause landfill problems with disposable plastic water bottles. Bottles can be filled via the sink in your accommodation or at either bar in our restaurant. Whenever possible we ask you to conserve water.
Fire Extinguishers
Extinguishers are located under the coffee counter/wet bar.
Garbage
Will be removed daily, please do not discard any food into the woods as this attracts bugs
Island Critters
Because we are in the tropics bugs and other critters are a part of life here. We treat for insects regularly to keep your accommodation as bug-free as possible without hurting the environment, however, bugs are bugs, so we wanted you to know the following:
- Mosquitos are normally kept at bay by the Tradewinds. However, there are times they may be more prevalent than others. Small Lizards come to the rescue as they eat the mosquitos. We also have other insects and bugs around; rest assured that none are poisonous.
- (Coenobita clypeatus), also known as the soldier crab, West Atlantic crab, tree crab, or purple pincher (due to the distinctive purple claw), is a species of land hermit crab native to the west Atlantic, Bahamas, Belize, southern Florida, Venezuela, the Virgin Islands and the West Indies.
As you hike around the Island it is fun to watch them walk and climb long distances, till they lose their grip and tumble down, just to start the process of climbing the mountain again! You can pick them up but beware they will pinch if your fingers are near their 2 main claws.
None of the bugs or insects are harmful. We have taken many steps to mitigate any interactions with them; however, as we are on a Caribbean Island, this is normal.
Power Outages
We generate our own power with generators and some solar support that can handle the entire island. Flashlights are located near your bedside in the unlikely event of an outage. When a power outage occurs, this should last no longer than 15 minutes. If this does happen, WIFI will be affected until the power returns.
Septic System
We have a very delicate septic system on island. Please do not flush anything down the toilet except for toilet paper. Please use covered receptacles for all other items.
Tipping
St. John has a unique tradition of “Givishness” the act of helping each other through sharing, which created a community of close social ties that continues today.
At Lovango, we are confident that you will enjoy your stay with us, in large part, due to the efforts of our outstanding team members. To help eliminate any awkward tipping moments we ask that you not tip during your stay outside of the charges from our restaurant and any food and beverage purchases. Instead, you will be asked to pay a 5% service charge based on your full lodging charges upon check-out. This fee is placed in a shared pool that is fully distributed to the team, along with paying for the fees to operate the service charge pool.
Some of our team members you will see daily, but others are working diligently behind the scenes to help create the magic of Lovango, and we feel they should be rewarded for their efforts too. We think this is the most equitable way to accomplish this goal. Please add gratuity as you normally would in the restaurant or at the Beach Club. We are always available to discuss this service charge if you have any questions.
Quiet Hours
Lovango’s quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am. We politely ask you to abide by this with respect for fellow guests and not use wireless speakers during quiet hours.
